Joanne and Australian Shepherd CaperI have been involved with dogs in one way or another since I was a young girl. I have rescued many dogs from the streets and brought them home until I could find their owner! Over a span of “many years”, I have shared my life with cocker spaniels, mongrels of various breeds, Border Collie X, German Shepherds, Labradors, Rottweilers, Miniature Schnauzers, and Golden Retrievers. I owned Golden Retrievers who got their Championship in Conformation, and Obedience CD titles. I also did a stint of dog breeding with the Golden Retrievers and the Miniature Schnauzers.

I still have two Miniature Schnauzers, and now have added an Australian Shepherd, who requires much more exercise !!

Caitland’s Spring Caper is my first Australian Shepherd. She came to me from Edmonton as an eight week old puppy. She was very shy and we have worked hard on overcoming her shyness. Among the necessities like meeting many dogs, people, sounds, and going places; we also enrolled in Puppy Kindergarten and Super Puppy, both completed at TNT with Sophie Budin and Karen Brearley. decided on TNT as my daughter, Alana, also goes to TNT with her Aussie, Flash; and she has highly recommended the instructors at TNT.

Joanne & CaperWe are having fun and learning much at TNT, and it is great getting back to doing some obedience training. Although the methods have changed over the years, the end result will still be a dog that loves to show you what he knows and a better companion to share our life with.

Our future plans with Caper are to obtain her CD, and work towards her Good Citizenship , check out her desire to Herd, and possibly do Agility. Looking forward to fun and entertaining years ahead with Caper !

Happy Training everybody!

Joanne
