Celebrating a Special Moment: Janice Gunn’s CKC Award

I am honored to accept the prestigious CKC National Obedience Competitor of the Year Award.

I extend my sincere gratitude to the CKC for this esteemed honour and to those who nominated me.

My long-lasting journey in dog sports has led me to earn lifetime member status in the Canadian Kennel Club, Golden Retriever Club of BC,  BC Labrador Retriever Club.  I am also a member of various other dog clubs.  From a very young age, I nurtured a dream of owning a dog, which ultimately manifested when I was twelve years old. By the time my Dalmatian reached the age of two, I embarked on my first Novice A ring experience, where I achieved a remarkable score of 198. This pivotal moment ignited my passion for dog sports, which has endured ever since.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have numerous influential mentors who have guided me along my path. I remain receptive to learning and actively participate in seminars whenever they become available, seeking to gain insights from the most accomplished professionals in the field.

My extensive teaching experience has enabled me to assist numerous individuals in honing their skills and advancing their abilities. I have conducted seminars from the West Coast to the East Coast, and all provinces in between, including the Yukon and Newfoundland.

Many attendees I have had the pleasure of working with have maintained contact with me, fostering the development of meaningful friendships through our shared passion for dog sports.
