Watch Janice Use a Flirt in Training
I am demonstrating some training exercises I do with the flirt pole. It makes training fun and challenging for both myself and my dog. Once my dog can work around the presence of toys, and understands not to go for the toy unless released to it by me, then I will up the level of toy value and start to use a flirt pole. My dogs LOVE the flirt pole. I basically use the Pre-Mack principle – in a nut shell, do what I am asking you to do, and get what you really, really want! So my dog will give up the distraction of the flirt pole and perform an exercise, to get released to the toy. A great way to connect with your dog and obtain a higher level of communication.
Tug Toys are meant for interactive tugging between you and your dog only. We strongly recommend that you do not allow your dog to keep the toy after interaction has finished.
